Nearing the southern limits of its range in the southern Appalachians. Sometimes treated as a variety [Spiraea alba var. alba] rather than a full species. Unlike Spiraea latifolia [= Spiraea alba var. latifolia], which has hairless twigs, it has hairy twigs, and as the name "Narrowleaf Meadowsweet" implies, the leaves are more narrow. |
